It is a standard for Digital Radios that not only ensures clear voice reception but also provides a migration path for Analog Radios to work alongside Digital Radios. It also ensures interoperability between the radios of members of association thereby allowing Customer to purchase radios as per their suitability and requirement.
As the name suggests, Base Station Radios are a type of Two-Way Radio Subscriber that can be used either ast a fixed radio (such as in a control room) or can be put in a vehicle to provide communication on move (while Mobile.) It is normally used at most of the sites using Two-Way Radios. It is connected with an external antenna. It has more power (normally 25W) as compared to a Handheld radio (5W) therefore provides a better range of about 3-5 Km (at full power) between two Base Stations which may increase by using a antenna on height or with a Repeater.
